Approche
Built a Bronze → Silver → Gold pipeline pulling from 9 sources (SofaScore, FBref, Transfermarkt, Understat, StatsBomb, Fotmob, Wikidata, sofifa.com), then engineered position-aware scoring — performance, tactical fit, sentiment, availability — to rank all 49 candidates and select a valid 26-player squad.
Défi
Several sources actively blocked automated access. Sofifa required a stealth-browser workaround to get past its Cloudflare challenge, and a subtle double-inversion bug in the availability score was silently distorting rankings until it was traced and fixed.
Résultat
A reproducible squad of 26 (3 GK, 9 DEF, 9 MID, 5 FWD) validated against the actual announced squad as ground truth — turning a subjective debate into a transparent, auditable model.
